The security of the payments

The management platform secure online payments of the Lawn Shop is completely run by one of the largest acquirers of payment card transactions in Italy, GestPay (Bancasella). Gestpay has a long experience in terms of security of transactions and ensures that its merchants and their customers (card holders) the highest security available today in the field of distance selling. In particular, the platform Gestpay fully complies (compliance) the following security standards:

CVV (CARD VERIFICATION VALUE)

This code is printed on credit cards and is used as an element of additional security for the transactions CNP (Customer Not Present) generally, therefore, in transactions of the type of e-commerce and MOTO (Mail Order – Telephone Order). The use of this safety code aims to ensure that the person who is making a purchase is in the possession of the credit card. In the cards VISA and MASTERCARD, the CVV is printed on the back of the credit card (3 digits). In the AMERICAN EXPRESS cards, the CVV is printed on the front of the credit card above the card code (4 digits).

3DSECURE (VERIFIED BY VISA - MASTERCARD SECURE CODE)

This code consists of a “password” that the credit card holder must indicate on the request of the website of the merchant from whom you are making a purchase. You only use for eCommerce transactions and is an element of additional security to CVV. The holder must indicate the same “password” that he has kept to his time on the website of the bank that issued the credit card (bank issuer). This is the only way the transaction can be considered safe, as it is assumed that only the real credit card holder's knowledge. The 3DSsecure applies to payment cards VISA and MASTERCARD.

PCI DSS (PAYMENT CARD INDUSTRY – DATA SECURITY STANDARD)

This symbol identifies the most important “world-wide standard of safety” for the companies that use in any mode, information about payment cards (credit cards, debit, pre-paid cards, etc.). This standard is governed by PCI Security Standard Council, which essentially is responsible to oversee and control the management of data relating to payment cards by parts of all the parties concerned (banks, merchants, intermediaries) in order to reduce the occurrence of fraudulent transactions. All interested parties are subject to an annual audit of surveillance on the part of an organism QSA (Qualified Security Assessor).
